Pe final post.

Participation:
I love pe. I try to always participate, but I will admit I have caught myself standing around in the past. Though I have learned from my experiences. I am always there, and I always come in strip. I only have one or two absences, on days of illness, or other extra curricular activities. During activities I like to have fun with my friends, and smile. I like to think it's not all about winning, but mostly having fun and trying your best. I learned from times that I didn't go 100%, because it wasn't affecting anyone else but myself. Going 100% and participating , gives a lot more of a satisfying feeling.

Social responsibility and contribution to the class: I like to help out when setting up and cleaning up, I ussually pick up a couple of cones or balls along with my peers in the class. I also set up the capture the flag game on the day we cleaned up the environment and picked up garbage. (Without being asked)

At the beggining of the year I didn't know half the people in our class. Luckily, we have a great class full of kind, and open people. Who are passionate about their health and also the well being of others. Talking to the kids in the class made me more social, and improved my people skills. I learned by watching them too. From the way people blog, I picked up a few tricks and ideas. For example Ashley, she's very quiet in class but boy has she got a lot running through her mind. Her blog is great and I like the way she talks about what she likes and doesn't like about certain activities we do. That was a great idea I got from her, and I started to do that in some of my posts. Not only her but I learned from many more, and hopefully others may have learned from me. I like to show how I'm a leader and an active student out of school.

I'm not the best at basket ball, or soccer. Or most things too do with balls, but I love to try them. Speedball, is a great example! I may not be amazing but I'm sure great a cheering my peers on. (Ask Seth and Kevin, for proof)

Healthy living:

I made a goal to get more flexible at the beginning of this year. And that goal I acheived. Though I had a few injuries from over stretching and dance and figureskating, I've now learned new ways to stretch, and since I'm more flexible I don't ussually hurt my self anymore.

Diet, food options:

Here are a few of the many pictures I've blogged, of my healthy diet. I don't just eat healthy because I have too, I actually love healthy food. I would prefer it over fast food anyday. That's just me.

Fitness: my fitness is not constant. I have my days where I'm very good and days where I'm shocked at my result because I have done better in the past. (Ignoring days of girl issues) the days where I did extremely well in fitness and achieved goals, prove that I could have done better on others. I have the potential, and tip to myself for next year is to always try, because you are only benefiting yourself.

Here are only a few, from the many fitness posts I have done. As u can see I do have my ups and downs, but I am honest in how I worked, and if I know I didn't go full out I admit. But also, when I did go full out I reflected on the satisfaction and proudness in myself.

Goals: in school, for next year I wanna work towards always going 100%. I taught myself a lesson this year without even knowing it. On days I went all out I felt so great and so proud. When I didn't, I knew I could have done better. But one can only learn from their mistakes, and I'm proud to say I still think I did very well this year and hope to further improve.

Outside of school, I am doing great with achieving goals! Infact I've moved up a skill and free skate level in figure skating, and am planning to start a solo, which I will post on my blog next year during competition season! In dance I improved so much in flexibility which was also partially from my weight room activities and extra curricular in school. I'm a very proud to say I am in a good shape to achieve my long term goals.

Digital portfolio:

Here are a few examples from the many blog posts I have. As displayed, you can see I post about fitness, regular class, class leadership, videos on YouTube, and my individual sports out side of school. I have many more of these but these few sum up a lot of how I feel about the class, and my health.

My personal addition to this post:
What I've learned from mr. Neuf, not everyone is a natural athletic person. Not everyone is born with the ability to run a 14 on the beep test. Or too hit a home run in softball. But you don't have to be the best at sports aslong as you try your best and keep the right attitude. This is called physical education not "who's the best at every sport in the world". We come to school to learn and trying a new thing never hurt. I know I'm not the best soccer player, or batter, or shooter. But I'm the best at trying.
Overall I think I deserve an A.

Dance volunteer

Every Wednesday and Sunday I vonunteer 2-3 hours of my time teaching and helping people dance. This is for my Bollywood school, and keeps me very fit and also contributes to the community. I enjoy this because I love helping, but it's hard because it's in downtown and one is in northvan. And I teach late hours so I end up home around 11pm or 12am. But anyways here a pic of me before dance :)

In pe on Tuesday we cleaned up our environment and played a sport of our choice after. It was a fun class because even though the teachers weren't around for capture the flag (the game I played)  all of us tried our best and had a really fun game. This was unlike the previous class with just jassi, almost no one tried because they thought "oh we don't have to the teachers not here" I guilty of that myself. But on Tuesday I did try and I had a lot more fun! I think the class does try harder when the teacher is around but we are working toward being active and having fun for our own benefit.

Breakout competition

On the weekend Sullivan heights competed in breakout. I competed in the junior jazz category, our team placed first. Here's a video of our dance:) http://youtu.be/oX6ogOJV5OM

Bean bag pond run

On Tuesday we did a more training type of activity. It was the pond run with the bean bags. It was actually Really Tirering if u tried your hardest. I didn't go 100% the  whole way around because I know that you can only run your max for 45 seconds before you get tired. So i kept a good pace but still tried to go faster everytime. I enjoyed it, because we got breaks, which we indeed needed, and to be honest I was still very out of breath even though we had these short rests. I liked how my team (Ryan, Kevin, and Seth) were so supportive of me, it really helped get me going when I heard them shouting "go roya!" And yelling positive comments. We all gave eachother high fives after our individual laps! Having a positive team was great! I didn't like the fact that I saw so many people sitting, I stood the entire time even though I was very tired. All in all I really enjoyed Tuesdays fitness! And I hope if we do it again I will bring my phone to pe so I can time my laps.

April 23 2014 fun class:)

Today and pe I learned to work as a team and to be aware of your surroundings. I didn't really enjoy our last game because no one was paying attention to who's pins were being knocked down or listening to instructions. I hope they also blog about how they should have listened to instructions so the game would have ran smoother. Our first 3 games were so fun. Linking arms in monkey ball was way more challenging than it seemed. We all had to work as a team and sometimes numerous balls came flying at us and we tried going desperate ways, which definitely did not work. It really was a team game. And In tails, we learned about sharing:) even though we are stealing other peoples tails which is quite ironic, because in the end we end up giving those tails to our friends to save them. Although some people were just snaching like 10 tails and not sharing. I actually had so much fun in class today and it was a great workout as well:)

Flexibity improvement this past month

I used a flexibility work out one day in the weight room, and learned a couple of stretches from it. I then continued my stretching in the studio at home and again today in the weight room. Before I started stretching I was no where near my middles and I was close to having my right splitz. Now I have both right and left, and I almost have my middles. Once I get my middles I will continue on another goal, which is to work on core strength. I don't enjoy doing crunches, but I find they work really well! So I will continue to do those when I work on my core. Any how, that's a little post to show my progress since a couple months ago.

Community run April 15th

I got 31 on the community run today which isn't very good, but what can I say I guess I'm not much of a runner! I'm going to set a goal to work on my running, and try to get my minuites up :) I was although very tired after completing it.

Saturday, 12 April 2014

Today I have a dance flash mob to do for the cherry blossom festival! Time to go brighten up peoples faces and get everyone in downtown dancing! I'll have some pictures up later :)

Bollywood dance clip

I was looking through old dance videos and I do jazz and hip hop but I've also been doing Bollywood dancing my whole life! And this is one of my old routines.
Blisters and bruises all over my feet and legs from training today:(

Long day

After a very long day of activity and a lot of dance and skating I finally reached home and get to relax! I learned even when ur in pain and tired sometimes you just have to push yourself to the limit! So pumped for my dance performance Tom! And a hot shower helped ease the pain in my leg so I'm ready to go! :)
Today I had 3 dance rehearsals all before 3rd period. I then couldn't participate in the hill run because I hurt my self doing the splitz.  Mr neuf told me to do something productive and be a leader instead of doing pe. I did science homework instead and helped my friend with hers as well. Now I have to attend another dance practice that is manditory and a figure skating practice :( hopefully I make it through with my hurt leg

Wednesday, 9 April 2014

Today is pe we played speedball! It was very intense and tiring! But a lot of fun if u passed the ball to everyone and kept a smile on your face! Team white wasn't winning but it was okay because towards the end we learned that passing the ball to everyone was a great strategy and we scored a lot of goals at the end! It was a very positive, and friendly game! I would love to play it again.
On Monday we had to self organize a game of capture the flag! It was very frustrating because many were talking at the same time! I learned that you don't have to just organize the game to be a leader, but listening to whoever is organizing the game shows just as much leadership! I participated and had a lot of fun during the game! And displayed my listening skills:)

Monday, 7 April 2014

Last night I had a late 3 hour dance practice! I pushed my self really hard and I feel really good about it! I think that took a lot of personal strength and I'm proud for pushing my self! :)

Friday, 4 April 2014

It's was nice to have a quick chat with mr. Neuf, Vaughn, athwal and Davis at the arena today. Unfortunately after u left mr.neuf, I injured my back really bad trying to do a scorpion spin. Ouch. Hopefully I be back on the ice next week!

Thursday, 3 April 2014

Just got home from my 4 hours dance practice I'm exhausted time for a healthy snack and a good sleep hopefully:)

Dodge ball

Today in pe we played dodge ball! It was super fun! Everyone participated and I noticed that no one in the class cheated. We have a very honest and kind environment in our class and I love it! I can't wait to play again!

Interm report

I am a good worker in gym. Yes I am not perfect! But I've been working on it since my last report. I have pictures and evidence to prove that. I continue my healthy lifestyle outside of gym aswell. I have a goal out of school, I would like to pass a lot of tests in figure skating and move up in my solo free program. I will be working on this all throughout spring and summer! I want to also move my beep test score up. I have gotten a lot better in flexibility and that day in the weight room really helped. I'm looking forward to growin a lot more as a student, skater, and dancer! I think I deserve a g! And I will post some pictures, later on and videos of my in school progress and figure skating progress :)

Beep test

My videos won't post though I took a video of everything :( but I felt really good about today's beep test I went all out. It was really hard for me to speak after running because I was coughing so much, but u had a great feeling of satisfaction! I learned that sometimes you gotta keep going even if ur mind is telling you you're tired, you're body is capable of a lot more.

Report card/ letter grade

Wow. Semester one went by fast, and surprisingly I've managed to survive the stress. This year I did double the physical activity than I did last year. I noticed it showed in my fitness too. I did have a small bumb in the road and I actually dropped on my beep test score, but I worked harder and did better on other fitness days. I will admit, i do not always put in a 100% and I am not the perfect student. I'm not good at every sport, but I don't mind trying new things. Even if I can't play, it's still fun to try and maybe I could learn a thing or two from people who do know how to play. I also have always been a positive girl, it's just my personality. I guess I just don't think winning is always that important, yes it's so amazing when you do win. But even if I don't win at a certain game, if I had fun and the people around me did aswell then I don't mind at all! This semester I dealt with a heavy schedule of skating and dance. I know many don't think dance is a sport, but if I come home sweating and aches and pains everywhere I'm pretty sure it had to work something. I feel a six pack coming on:') anyways it's competition season right now for both dance and figure skating. I've been doing a minimum of 4 hours I physical activity everyday. I am in so much pain right now. Travelling for competitions is a lot of fun though so I don't mind. I also don't just do sports I eat healthy. Well most of the time. I have a salad everyday, and try to eat as many fruits as possible. I try to balance my meals aswell. I have a lot of this information in previous blog posts, so I won't drag on. For any supporting evidence, scroll down and view some of my past blog posts with pictures. In the end I think I deserve an A. I really do care about my health.

Dance

Since I've gotten back from Toronto I've been dancing day and night I feel like I lost 10 pounds in 2 days. Me along with my best friend michaela have been waking up at 5 every morning, coming to school at 6:50am and practice dance along with a good 3 hours after school. We should be following this routine for the next two weeks. But in the end I think it will be worth it.😊

Toronto

Just got back from my competition in Toronto for figure skating. It was an amazing experience. Even though we did not place first this time, it was alright. We got to see many other teams skate, and it was so amazing to see the differant categories. I learned that people in Quebec and Ontario skate ten hours a week minimum for their synchro teams. some of the teams we watched practiced 6 hours a day everyday. We vs 15 other teams, and I learned so many techniques just by watching these amazing people skating. I'm glad I got to have such an amazing experience once again. I can't wait for our next competition!!

New dance season

I dance Bollywood out of school, and the start of a new season is today so yay! Time for 2 and a half hours of pure excersize.

Going gold

Our team won the first competition of the year, and boy did it feel good. I only slept 2 hours and spent 13 to 14 hours at the arena today. Waking up at 4 am was not easy and by 8 pm I think I was going to pass out but in the end it was totally worth it. Today was amazing. We made history. Infact we are the first intermediate synchronized figure skating team to ever win gold in bc. So that was pretty cool!! Cheering for our teams and getting to watch others amazing performances was great aswell. I just love competition season! Hopefully we can keep our winning streak going:)

Really excited for my figure skating competition Tom. Except for the fact that I have to wake up at 4 am😭😭😭

Back on the ice after break

I'm glad I got to do some excersize during the break. After being quite lazy I had a 2 hour figure skating practice today to clean up for our competition this Saturday, and for many more coming soon. We went through a lot, and I think it will also help my team and I in competition next week in Toronto! Anyways I'm glad to be back and just thought I would post about it:)
